Did XRP reach $4.00 at any point in October 2026?

Resolution: Updated:

In short

The market treats this as essentially settled against a Yes. With only a couple of trading days left in October and XRP showing no sign of the kind of move that would be needed, the price sits at the floor. The one thing that would change it is a sudden, large rally in the final 48 hours of the month โ€” nothing short of that moves this now.

How the contract works

This market settles as a contract that pays $1 if the condition is met and nothing if it is not. The condition here is narrow and mechanical: did any single one-minute candle for XRP/USDT on Binance show a High price of $4.00 or more, at any point between 1 and 31 October 2026. A contract trading at, say, 0.30 would mean the market saw roughly a three-in-ten chance of that happening โ€” that is a hypothetical, not this market's current price. The question resolves once and for all based on Binance's own recorded data for the month, with settlement following shortly after October ends on 1 November 2026. A position in this contract can be sold at whatever the prevailing price is at any point before settlement, rather than held to the end.

How the price has moved

The market-implied probability sits at 0% across every venue tracking this contract, with Polymarket โ€” the only venue currently showing meaningful activity, at $366,248 in volume โ€” pricing it at the same level. There is no reported divergence between venues, which is itself informative: when multiple pricing sources agree at the floor, it typically means the question is seen as functionally closed rather than simply unlikely. With XRP's historical ceiling well below the $4.00 threshold and only days left in the measurement window, the pricing has had little reason to move, and nothing in the available data points to a shift.

Analysis

Context

XRP is the token associated with Ripple Labs, long traded on every major exchange including Binance, where this market's settlement data comes from. The question asks whether XRP's price touched $4.00 at any point during October 2026, checked against Binance's own minute-by-minute price record for the XRP/USDT pair. XRP has a long trading history but has never actually closed above roughly $3.84, the level it reached briefly in January 2018 during the broader crypto market peak of that cycle. Every rally since โ€” including sharp moves tied to regulatory news about Ripple's long-running case with the US Securities and Exchange Commission โ€” has fallen short of that mark. The $4.00 threshold in this question sits above anything XRP has recorded on a major exchange in its history. The contract settles on 1 November 2026, just after the October window closes, using Binance's 1-minute candle High price as the sole reference. Only that specific exchange and trading pair counts; a $4.00 print on another exchange, or on a different XRP pair, would not satisfy the rule.
Consensus across venues sits at 0%, and the only venue currently trading this contract, Polymarket, prices it there too, on $366,248 of volume. A reading this close to the floor, with no divergence between venues, signals a market that regards the outcome as effectively decided rather than merely unlikely โ€” there is no meaningful disagreement left to arbitrage. The core constraint is arithmetic. XRP has never traded above approximately $3.84 on any major exchange, a level set during the January 2018 peak of that cycle's broader crypto rally. For the contract to resolve Yes, XRP would need to not only clear that historic ceiling but push roughly 4% past it, within a window that โ€” as of 29 October 2026 โ€” has only two trading days left. A move of that size inside 48 hours, without any specific catalyst reported, is the kind of event markets price near zero rather than merely low. Volume of $366,248 on a single venue is not large relative to major crypto-linked contracts, but it is enough to indicate the question has drawn genuine positioning rather than sitting untouched. The absence of any second venue quoting a materially different number suggests traders see no ambiguity in how this resolves โ€” the Binance-only, 1-minute-candle rule leaves little room for a technical dispute even if XRP spiked briefly on a different exchange. The practical case for Yes would require a specific, named trigger โ€” something on the scale of a surprise regulatory ruling or an unexpected large institutional flow โ€” landing in the final two days of the month and pushing XRP through a level it has never reached. Absent such a trigger being reported, the market's pricing reflects a judgment that the remaining window is too short and the required move too large.

What moves the probability

  1. Time remaining in October

As of 29 October 2026 only two trading days remain before the window closes. A move of the size required has to happen within that stretch, which sharply limits how much can change before settlement.

  2. XRP's historical ceiling

XRP has never traded above roughly $3.84 on a major exchange, a mark set in January 2018. The $4.00 threshold sits above anything the token has recorded in its trading history, which weighs heavily against Yes.

  3. Binance-only, 1-minute data rule

Only a High print on Binance's XRP/USDT 1-minute candles counts. This removes ambiguity about which exchange or timeframe applies, and keeps the market's pricing clean rather than split across differing data sources.

  4. No reported catalyst

No specific, publicly reported event โ€” regulatory ruling, large institutional purchase, or similar โ€” has been tied to a rally of the size needed. Absent a named trigger, the market defaults to pricing the outcome near zero.

  5. Single-venue volume concentration

All $366,248 of recorded volume sits on one venue, Polymarket. That concentration means the 0% reading reflects one pool of positioning rather than a cross-market consensus built from independent pricing.

The case for

  • XRP would need to post a move of roughly 4% or more above its historic 2018 peak of about $3.84, and do so within the final two trading days of October 2026.
  • A specific catalyst โ€” such as a surprise favorable ruling in Ripple's long-running regulatory matters, a major exchange listing event, or a large reported institutional purchase โ€” would need to land in that window and be large enough to drive the token through a level it has never reached.
  • Binance's XRP/USDT pair specifically would need to register the move on a 1-minute candle, meaning even a brief, sharp spike lasting only a minute would be enough if it printed on that exact pair.

The case against

  • XRP has never traded above approximately $3.84 on any major exchange in its history, making $4.00 a level with no precedent to draw on.
  • Only two trading days remain in the October window as of 29 October 2026, leaving little time for a rally of the required size to develop and register.
  • No specific, publicly reported catalyst has been identified that would plausibly drive a move of this magnitude in the time remaining.
  • Consensus across venues sits at the floor with no divergence between them, indicating the market sees this as settled rather than merely improbable.

What to watch

The window closes at 23:59 ET on 31 October 2026, with Binance's own 1-minute candle data for XRP/USDT the sole reference for settlement on 1 November 2026. Between now and then, the relevant things to watch are any sudden move in XRP's price on Binance specifically, any news tied to Ripple's regulatory situation in the US, and any reported large institutional flows into XRP โ€” any of which could, in principle, move the token sharply in a short window, though none has been reported as of 29 October 2026.

Resolution rules

Determined by
Binance XRP/USDT 1-minute candle data (High price) for October 2026
Resolution date

This resolves to Yes if Binance's XRP/USDT trading pair shows a 1-minute candle with a High price of $4.00 or greater at any point between 00:00 ET on 1 October 2026 and 23:59 ET on 31 October 2026. It resolves to No otherwise. Only Binance's data for that exact pair is used; prices from other exchanges, other XRP pairs, or other timeframes do not count. Settlement follows on 1 November 2026.

Calculation methodology โ†’

Local context

For crypto traders and XRP holders across the US, UK, Canada and Australia, round psychological levels like $4.00 are widely watched because they mark territory XRP has never reached, unlike some other major tokens that have repeatedly set new highs. A move through that level, however unlikely the market currently considers it, would be reported as a historic milestone for the token rather than a routine price change, which is part of why it draws attention even at this probability.

Common questions

What exactly needs to happen for this to resolve Yes?
A single one-minute candle for the XRP/USDT pair on Binance needs to show a High price of $4.00 or more, at any point between 1 and 31 October 2026. Only Binance's data for that specific pair counts; prices on other exchanges or other XRP trading pairs are not considered.
What does a probability near 0% actually mean here?
It means the market sees the chance of XRP touching $4.00 on Binance this month as negligible, not impossible in a strict sense but close enough to zero that essentially no one is positioning for it to happen. It reflects collective pricing by traders, not a guarantee.
What happens if Binance has an outage or data gap near the end of October?
The rules specify Binance's XRP/USDT 1-minute candle data as the sole source, so settlement depends on that data being available for the full window. The rules as stated do not describe a separate contingency for a data outage, so any such situation would need to be handled according to the resolution source's own record for the period.
Why has XRP never traded at $4.00 before?
XRP's highest recorded price on major exchanges dates to around January 2018, during that cycle's broad crypto market peak, when it reached approximately $3.84. It has not approached that level again in subsequent years, including during later market rallies.
Can a position in this contract be exited before 1 November 2026?
Yes, a position can generally be sold on the venue where it was opened at whatever price is then being quoted, rather than being held until settlement.
Why is almost all the trading volume on one venue?
The $366,248 in recorded volume is concentrated on Polymarket, which is simply where this specific contract has drawn activity; other venues tracking it have not shown comparable volume.
