Contracts on outcomes carry the risk of total loss of the amount committed. Prices can move sharply, liquidity can disappear, and a position may be impossible to close before settlement.

Settlement depends on the venue’s own resolution rules and its chosen source. Two venues quoting the same question may settle differently, and a dispute process can change an outcome after trading has closed.
